Support East Bay Activism

Inspired by the success of pragmatic political coalitions in San Francisco, two GFC chapters led by Alistair Thornton and Eli Bildner have identified political giving opportunities in the East Bay about which you can read here. Alistair and Eli live with their wives and young children in the East Bay and work in technology.

Often overshadowed by San Francisco, the East Bay is the most populous subregion in the Bay Area but isn’t living up to its potential. Since 2019, homelessness has jumped 22% in one county and nearly doubled in another. Two of the largest school districts have declining enrollment and substantial budget deficits. Crime is too high and trust in government too low. Political activism in support of East Bay residents and students has long been needed.

The GFC chapter that I co-chair will support their candidates and we encourage you to do the same whether or not you live in the East Bay. Their success would benefit similar activities all across the state. We hope to highlight more such efforts.
