Whoever wins today’s elections will need to govern. While some elected officials will continue to talk about fighting or resisting, others will be ready to roll up their sleeves and to work across aisles. To succeed, they will need the protection of political philanthropists. That topic will be high on our agenda next month when GFC hosts a gathering of more than a dozen political philanthropies from around the state.
Governance in California will improve only when elected officials are protected by an ecosystem of political philanthropies they can count on. GFC has been pleased to promote political philanthropies in Los Angeles, San Francisco and the East Bay and in support of the University of California and soon will promote one that supports public school families. If you know of an effective political philanthropy that we’ve missed, please let us know.
