As 2020 comes to a close, we are pleased to report that GFC raised $7,152,548 during the 2019-20 legislative session. Launched in 2011 with seed funding from three donors (Ron Conway, Greg Penner and me), today GFC has nearly 900 donors plus 16 chapters that together are among the most powerful forces in Sacramento. Special interests have been there longer, but we are bigger and growing faster.
Your help will be needed more than ever in 2021-22. Last session we stopped a number of bad bills and overcame a long time special interest (CMA) to liberate nurse practitioners, but the next session will see more bad bills and opposition from public sector unions to reform of post-employment insurance subsidies.
As GFC enters its second decade, we have begun evaluating systems, staffing and leadership structures appropriate for a maturing institution. GFC’ers with enterprise-building experience have been helping us and we are likely to call on more of you for advice. See you — in person! — in 2021.
